This screen is used to configure connections to the data sources that supply List-type fields with their values.

To configure a connection to an External Data Source:

  1. Log in as a user with JIRA Administrator permissions.
  2. Select a project from: 'Administration' > 'Add-ons' > 'External Data Sources'

Adding a Connection to a Database

To add a connection to an external database:

  1. Click on Add Connection.



  2. Next, fill in the following configuration fields: 



    Information

    Description

    Alias

    Name for identifying the connection. This name will be shown on the list of available connections when the List-type fields are configured.

    Type

    Identifies the type of database being connected to.

    Database Connection

    Write in the connection string used by the JBDC driver to connect to the chosen database.

  3. Click on Test Connection to test it for proper operation. If the connection is successful, a message indicating this will be shown.



  4. Click on Save to save the changes and return to the previous screen.



  5. The connection has now been added and will appear on the list of connections.


Edit Connection to Database.

To edit a connection to an external database:

  1. Click on Edit in the Actions column of the connection to be edited.



  2. When finished, click on Save to save the changes made and return to the previous screen.



Delete Connection to Database.

To delete a connection to an external database:

  1. Click on Delete in the Actions column of the connection to be deleted.



  2. In the next screen click on Delete to confirm the deletion and return to the previous screen. The connection will be removed from the list.
